Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is proud to announce a significant gift from William (Bill) Morris, a 1974 alumnus of the university, and his wife, Gail, both of Wichita, Kansas. This generous contribution will enhance the William R. Morris Endowment, which funds the Kay Morris Rozzell Scholarships, directly benefiting students in SWOSU’s Department of Education.

Morris has remained a passionate advocate for higher education and student success. Through their enduring support, the Morris family continues to honor the legacy of Kay Morris Rozzell by investing in aspiring educators who are committed to shaping future generations.

“This gift is a profound affirmation of the Morrises’ belief in the power of education,” said SWOSU President Dr. Diana Lovell. “Their generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of our students and the communities they will serve as educators.”

The Kay Morris Rozzell Scholarships were established in honor of Bill’s beloved sister, Kay, a dedicated educator whose influence continues through the achievements of scholarship recipients. The William R. Morris Endowment, strengthened by this recent gift, ensures ongoing support for education majors who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and a commitment to the field of education.

The William R. Morris Endowment and the Kay Morris Rozzell Scholarship are stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to raise, administer, and disburse private funding in support of the activities and programs of SWOSU.
