Nye, a former SWOSU Football player, and letterman, serves as an Executive Council Member of the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and also serves on the Jim Thorpe Award Selection Committee.
The winning bidder will attend the prestigious, black tie Jim Thorpe Award Ceremony where the best defensive back in college football will receive the award. The winner will also be special guests at the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on August 24, 2024, as guests of the Nye Family. Both Vance (91) and Lena (91) are SWOSU graduates.
