A 40th anniversary celebration and reunion honoring the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) 1985 NAIA undefeated Championship Women’s Basketball Team will be held on March 1, 2025, at the Pioneer Event Center on the SWOSU Weatherford Campus.
The Lady Bulldogs, led by Coach John Loftin, won a third national title in 1985. Loftin led the women’s basketball team to win two more national titles in 1987 and 1990.
The Skyview Suite in the Pioneer Event Center will be open at noon on March 1. Former SWOSU women’s basketball players from any era are invited to come and fellowship. At 1:00 p.m. the SWOSU Lady Bulldogs will take on Southern Nazarene University and the 1985 Lady Bulldogs along with Coach Loftin will be honored at halftime. The public is welcome to join in the celebration.
