Christopher Ray of Weatherford, Oklahoma has been named the Shannon Little Bird Memorial Scholar for Academic Year 2022-2023 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU).
Ray is a freshman at SWOSU majoring in Pre-Pharmacy.
The Shannon Little Bird Memorial Endowment was established by Dutch and Sandy Little Bird, in memory of their son, Shannon Michael Little Bird. The fund provides one scholarship every year to a SWOSU incoming freshman who has graduated from Weatherford High School. Eligible applicants for the award must have also participated in wrestling or football while at Weatherford High School.
The Shannon Little Bird Memorial Endowment Fund is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships, and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
