The SWOSU Piano Campaign

The SWOSU Piano Campaign

The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Department of Music has a one-of-a-kind music therapy program, quality, award-winning music education, and instrumental music courses. Students come from across the country for the outstanding plans of study and first-rate professors at SWOSU Music.

The SWOSU Piano Campaign will provide new Steinway, Kawai, and practice pianos for music students and faculty. These pianos will be enjoyed for decades to come by the thousands who attend SWOSU performances and SWOSU music camps every year.

Will you partner with SWOSU Music in this effort by providing a charitable gift to The SWOSU Piano Campaign? Your gift will be recognized in the SWOSU Music Department in a display and you will be invited to a reception unveiling the new pianos.

Testimonials

One of my joys (maybe even the best one) as a student at SWOSU was ducking into a practice room and spending blissful hours improvising at the piano. I'd take time to find the best instrument available, knowing that there would usually be a good one tuned and ready. Going into one of the large halls and playing a concert grand instruments was invaluable to me. The pianos at SWOSU were a huge part of my music education, and would have to be a necessary part of anyone's music eduction worth of the name!

My time at Southwestern Oklahoma State University was filled with more opportunities than I could have every imaged. I came from a small town in Oklahoma, where the fine arts are severely undervalued. I was able to get a music education and grow my voice with adept and talented faculty who inspired and encouraged me during my time at SWOSU. due to my undergraduate training, I was accepted into top tier music programs and have since graduated with a masters in vocal performance. I currently reside in Texas, where I utilize my degree to teach and perform in various ensembles throughout the Dallas metroplex.

The music therapy program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University was an unbelievable experience. It gave me the opportunity to grow as a musician and as a person. I am not currently practicing music therapy, but the skills I learned have helped me to build by piano and composition studio. The program has taught me to think about others in a holistic manner and how to connect with other through music. It taught me how to think about music differently and taught me the science behind how it affects others on an emotional level. The SWOSU music therapy program sets high expectations for its students, like the Steinway Piano Company does for its instruments. Granting the honor of making SWOSU an all Steinway School would help to maintain the high expectations that are expected of the program's students and give them high quality instruments to explore and develop their skills.
