Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is excited to announce the receipt of a major charitable contribution from Nicholas Rains, ‘02, and his wife, Judy, endowing the Nicholas & Judy Rains Computer Science Scholarship to provide ongoing financial assistance to SWOSU students studying in the Computer Science Department.
“We are deeply grateful to Nick and Judy Rains for their ongoing, thoughtful charitable support of the students at SWOSU,” said SWOSU’s Executive Director for Institutional Advancement, Mr. Garrett King, ’08 & ’18. “The Rains’s latest gift to SWOSU will make history as the first endowment of its kind to benefit our dynamic, growing Computer Sciences Department.”
Nicholas and Judy have a long history of generous investment in SWOSU students. They established the Nicholas & Judy Rains Chemistry Scholarship Fund at SWOSU in 2016 for chemistry students with financial challenges. Nicholas is grateful for the numerous scholarships he received during his time at SWOSU that allowed him to focus on his studies. Nicholas and Judy are honored for the opportunity to pay it forward and hope future graduates will remember SWOSU when considering charitable donations.
The Nicholas & Judy Rains endowments at SWOSU are stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. An independent 501 C 3 entity, the Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships, and support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
